On March 3, 2025, The Composers Room transformed into a vibrant hub of entertainment and philanthropy, hosting the annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation kickoff and birthday celebration for Las Vegas Review-Journal columnist John Katsilometes. The event, aptly titled “All Vegas, All Night,” united the city’s entertainment elite to raise funds for pediatric cancer research.
The evening featured an impressive lineup of performances, including renditions of classics like “Proud Mary” by Franky Perez, “Stand By Me” by Clint Holmes, and “New York State of Mind” by Brian Newman. Comedian Luenell delivered a standout stand-up set, while the D.C. Magic Tones, under the direction of Kenny Davidsen, provided musical accompaniment throughout the night
A highlight of the evening was the surprise appearance of Wayne Newton, affectionately known as “Mr. Las Vegas.”Fresh from his show at the Flamingo, Newton took the stage to the delight of attendees. In a memorable moment, he playfully performed a reverse-Mohawk on Katsilometes, initiating the head-shaving tradition that symbolizes solidarity with children battling cancer. The shaving was completed by Brenda Williams, who generously contributed $1,000 for the honor.
The event successfully raised over $6,800 through ticket sales and donations, all benefiting the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. This gathering exemplified the spirit of Las Vegas, showcasing the community’s commitment to supporting meaningful causes through entertainment and unity
